PHP.index file displays in Browser - B_DubHay - 10-23-2017

I tried installing opendocman on a DigitalOcean Droplet using Ubuntu 16.04. I used the installation guide found on the opendocman wiki and reading the README file that was in the .zip folder of installation files. I changed the owner of my opendocman directory to www-data:www-data. When i navigate to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/opendocman the php.index file is displayed in my browser instead of going into installation mode. What am I doing wrong. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If this has already been covered in earlier forum posts please direct me to them. Thanks.

Brian

This happens when PHP is improperly installed on the web server. Either the .php extension is not added, or mod PHP is missing altogether.
