Community Support for OpenDocMan (Deprecated)

Hi. I work in a school and we are facing a huge difficulty to use OpenDocMan. Once we have more than 500 students and more than 10 different courses, each time we publish a doc to a specific class, we have to allow permission to each one student. It’s very hard to select student by student to allow the doc permission.
I’m wondering if there is a feature to create groups so I could attribute each class to each group and allow the permission just once for the entire group instead of user by user.
Does anyone have suggestions?

Do you mean something besides the "Departments" permission setting? That is how a group would normally be handled.
