Community Support for OpenDocMan (Deprecated)

Caveat .. I am brand new to OpenDocMan. I have been experimenting with it for a day and like what I see. There is one capability that I would like to make this a perfect fit for my group's needs. Is there a way to create a URL that I can share (via email, etc.) that would let someone download a given file? I am thinking as one of the options from the File Details page I could select "create URL" and something like a tinyURL would be returned that I could cut 'n paste in to an email message, include as a link in a web page, what have you. If I hand someone the File Details URL then they would have access to all the controls. Maybe this capability already exists within OpenDocMan and I am just too new to know how to enable it.

Copy the "View" link on the main page and when someone clicks on that link they will login first, then be redirected to view that file. Not sure how to do that for Download.
