Community Support for OpenDocMan (Deprecated)

Hi,

I am thinking of using OpenDocMan but I'm not sure through the demo if my departments or people can be set so they only see certain documents.

I'm sure they can not check out or view but I want to know if they can be blocked from even seeing documents/file names that they do not have the rights to work on. I only want them to see what they have rights to view/check out.

Forbidden is the option you are looking for. You can set departments, or users to "forbidden" on files. They would not be able to see it in the list because you need "view" permission in order to see it show up in the file list.
