After adding a file, it appears under the review document and when I click view in the table it gives "file does not exit" error message. Also the size value displays as X in the documents to review table. Please guide.

Sounds like the file failed to be copied to the server. Or the permissions on the file or dataDir are wrong on the server itself.Check the folder and the files to see if 1.dat (for example) has the proper permissions.

Again, the same problem.
The files are uploaded and can be seen in the data directory, but nothings shows up when looking for the documents. As an admin I can not any and modify access or else. The files are read- and writable.

Please try again while monitoring your web server error log to see if there is a PHP error being thrown when attempting to view the file.
