Open Source all documents - PPRNNews - 01-02-2012 I have about 30 GB of documents I want to make open source. Which to me means: Permissions set for all users to view and download I have tried 2 documents and it seems I have to give each NEW person permission to view/dl every file. Even the admins. How can I: 1. Let all users see the documents, old and new 2. Let all NEW users see all documents All without me having to alter each users access to individual documents? Re: Open Source all documents - Stephen - 01-04-2012 You just need to set the "All Unset Departments" permission to be Read permissions. That basically says if there is not a specific permission already set for this file and the users' specific department, then it will use the "Unset Department" permission value. steve Re: Open Source all documents - PPRNNews - 01-05-2012 So if I have then categories for each type of doc, for example, food storage / water storage, they would go UNDER that department? Re: Open Source all documents - Stephen - 01-05-2012 Categories and Departments are two separate things. Departments are attached to permissions. |
